Kitten process

Please kindly find our kitten process below.

Application Process

We do not operate a waiting list. Instead, we open our kitten application form periodically throughout each breeding season.

The frequency of application openings depends on the number of approved applicants who are still actively searching for their kitten. Once all available spaces have been filled, the application form will close and reopen when appropriate.

We will announce application openings on our social media pages and website

 

Note: Please introduce yourself when you message us. It does not need to be a massive paragraph but pleasee dont be like this. "Hi, price please?" Just a short introduction works.

Once your Application is accepted:

• We will contact you when a suitable kitten becomes available.

• Your application remains valid for 6 months and may be extended upon request.

• When kittens become available, we contact approved applicants individually. Each applicant is given the opportunity to select the kitten(s) they would like to view before we move on to the next applicant

• This allows for a calm and fair process, without pressure or competition between applicants for the same kitten.

• If we do not have kittens available for a period of time, there may be a waiting period before a suitable kitten becomes available.

•Kittens are given temporary placeholder names after birth. New owners are welcome to choose their kitten’s registered name before the kitten reaches 8 weeks of age.

 

Friendly note: We do not require house inspections or photos of your property. However we ask that you provide a safe roam-free house. Meaning that your beloved MC should stay indoors and only be let outside IF you have an enclosed, escape proof garden or catio.

 

 

 

                                                                                                                                    

 

 KITTEN INFORMATION

Kittens are usually available around 4-6 weeks of age for applicants. 

We allow and prefer in-person viewings (Appointment Only). That means that you are welcome to visit our cattery and see the kittens for yourself. 

If you cannot come in-person, then arranging a video-call is mandatory.

Kittens are officially booked when deposit is paid AFTER Viewing or VideoCall.

-Note: We kindly ask that viewing reservations be made only for the number of kitten(s) you are seriously considering adopting. Unfortunately, we are unable to reserve an entire litter for viewing so that a favourite kitten can be selected.

We appreciate your understanding and respect for our time and the well-being of our kittens.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • All kittens are registered with SACC (Southern Africa Cat Council)
  • Kittens go home with 1st Innoculation, fleatreatment and deworming completed.
  • Microchip is optional.
  • Kittens go home at minimum age of 12 weeks old.
  • Kittens have no breeding rights.

Pedigree will be provided ONCE proof of Sterilisation (Spay/Neuter) is provided.

All kittens must be fixed between 6 to 8 months old. May be extended to a year if a letter is provided, signed by a licensed vet. 

Other:

-No known hip issues/ hip dysplasia reported in our lines

-FIV & FeLV negative

Kitten Season: August - April 

Do you fly your kittens?      

We allow our kittens flying via a Trusted Pet Courier company.

Please note that you will be responsibe for paying the transport company and collecting necessary documents needed for travel. Plus we do charge extra.

I got a kitten from you.  How do I apply for another kitten?

Please contact Annelie van Vuuren (Owner) and provide recent photos and/or updates of your Sparkle Coon Maine Coon.

You will also need to provide proof that your cat has been sterilised.(Mandatory)

Once the required information has been received and everything is in order, you will be placed on our Sparkle Coon Family List, which is reserved for previous Sparkle Coon owners who are looking to welcome another kitten into their family.
