Sparkle Coon Cattery

The Maine Coon is one of the largest domestic breed cats. They weight between 4 and 10 kg depending on the cat. They are very muscular in build and has large paws. The maine coon has medium length hair that is long and harsh to the touch. They have a medium-sized head, with prominent cheekbones and a broad nose. The tail are long and very fluffy. The ears are large and slightly pointy at the end with little tufts on the tips. The maine Coon comes in a variety of colour except Chocolate, Lilac and colorpoint. The main colour patterns the Maine Coon comes in is: Tabby, solid colour, tortoiseshell, silver, smoke and particolour.

The Maine Coons personality traits are that they are very affectionate to their owners, they love attention, the kittens are very playful and athletic, mostly even into adulthood.  They drink water by wetting their paws and will even lay on a wet surface.

The Maine Coon is very easy to groom and only requires a weekly brushing to keep their coats shiny. They bond well with children and other animals. The Maine Coon can be trained to walk on a leash and can be taken out for walks. 

The female Maine Coon goes on heat later then any other breed of cats. They grow very slowly and only reach adult hood after four years of age.
